The City Council of the City of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, met in the Conference Room at the Pleasant Grove City Hall, 6:00p.m. for the pre-council meeting with the following present:

Mayor: Jerry W. Brasseale

Council Members: William Bullion

James G. Mosley

Paula Johnson

Terrie Hicks

Philip Houston

Also present: Chief Robert Knight, Captain Richard Mathews, Streets and Park Supervisor John Johnson, Building Inspector Doug Hyche, Attorney Jon Terry, City Clerk Karen Duncan

The City Council met with Dr. Fredrick Hamilton with Jefferson County Community Development and Commissioner Jimmy Stephens to discuss steps to enter into a co-operative agreement for the use of federal funds for removal of structures and debris from the April 27, 2011 tornado.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Ms. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 18th. pre-council and regular meeting.

Mr. Bullion seconded the motion.

Motion passed unanimously.

APPROVAL OF BILLS

Mr. Mosley made a motion to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $182,373.11.

Mr. Houston seconded the motion.

Motion passed unanimously.

Ms. Johnson made a motion to approve the hiring of one police officer.

Mr. Houston seconded the motion.

All in favor with the exception of a no vote by Mr. Mosley. Motion carried.

Upon motion made by Ms. Johnson the council meeting adjourned at 7:26p.m.
