The City Council of the City of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, met in the Conference Room at the Pleasant Grove City Hall, 6:00p.m. for the pre-council meeting with the following present:

 

Mayor:                        Jerry W. Brasseale

Council Members:       William Bullion (absent)

                                    James G. Mosley

                                    Paula Johnson (absent)

                                    Terrie Hicks

                                    Philip Houston

 

Also present: Attorney Jon Terry, Chief Bill Waites, City Clerk Karen Duncan

 

The council discussed general business to be taken care of at the council meeting.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

Mr. Houston made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 7th. pre-council and regular meeting.

 

Mr. Mosley seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

APPROVAL OF BILLS

 

Mr. Mosley made a motion to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $179,052.70.

 

Ms. Hicks seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Mr. Mosley made a motion to adopt Resolution Number 72108A. This is a resolution certifying Council member Terrie Hicks for Place Number Three.

 

Mr. Houston seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed. Ms. Hicks abstained from vote.

 

Mr. Mosley made a motion to adopt Resolution Number 72108B. This is a resolution certifying Council member William Bullion for Place Number Five.

 

Ms. Hicks seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

Mr. Houston made a motion to adopt Resolution Number 72108C. This is a resolution designating Karen Duncan as Election Officer for the City of Pleasant Grove.

Mr. Mosley seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

Mr. Houston made a motion to adopt Resolution Number 72108D. This is a resolution setting compensation at $50.00 per day to the Election Manager for when actual work is performed with absentee ballots.

 

Ms. Hicks seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

Ms. Hicks made a motion to approve the quote in the amount of $1,888.00 from Local Government for garbage billing internet paying of services.

 

Mr. Houston seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

Complaints of loud music from vehicles.
